At California College of the Arts, homecoming is more than an art fair. It is also a celebration of the university's history, an invitation to strengthen community, and an opportunity for artists to expand their horizons. This year marked an important moment in the university's history, as it was the last homecoming would be featured on the Oakland campus grounds, originally purchased in 1922.
This work reminds the community of CCA Oakland's rich history, and sends an invitation to embrace what comes next. All photographs were sourced through CCA's historic archives. The leaves were scans from the campus's soon to be cut down oak trees, which had been present on the campus since the early days.
"(Dylan) is very good at hearing the vision for what you want and making it into a reality."
